Christmas preparations are in full swing. A lot of homes already feature twinkling Christmas trees, and high streets are beautifully lit with festive lights. For florists, this is an especially busy time as they fill their shop windows with the most stunning wreaths and bouquets. We’ve gathered a selection of gorgeous Christmas designs by Maria Sarnowska and Ewa Bugaj to immerse you in the festive spirit. These creations were crafted in collaboration with Smithers-OASIS.
Soft textures and nostalgia
In this enchanting design by Maria Sarnowska, the dried Clematis Amazing® Kibo takes centre stage. The palette of off-white, red, and green is reminiscent of a traditional Christmas theme. The styling, featuring a poinsettia and nutcracker (as seen in the title image), complements the festive atmosphere perfectly. Maria demonstrates how versatile a wreath really is; it can be used as wall decor or as a table centrepiece with candles in different styles. The addition of a refined bow further emphasises its nostalgic character.
Did you know that Clematis Amazing® Kibo undergoes a complete transformation when dried? Its decorative seed heads become soft and fluffy, ideal for creating a warm, inviting atmosphere at home. The image above shows the wreath before drying.
A dreamy bouquet
This luxurious bouquet in pink and purple tones is a true showpiece. Its airy arrangement style, paired with a classic vase, gives it an elegant allure. The addition of burgundy foliage adds a wintry touch. Maria Sarnowska chose Clematis Amazing® Star River, Clematis Amazing® Kibo, Clematis Amazing® Kyiv, Astilbe Vision in Pink and light pink Chrysanthemums for this bouquet.
Robust natural beauty
Maria Sarnowska combines warm and cool tones beautifully in this arrangement. The bright blue hues of Eryngium Magnetar Questar® are enhanced by the contrast with the bronze candle and orange berries. Branches in various shades of green and brown are arranged dynamically, facing different directions. This technique creates movement and gives the design a natural, playful character.
Wintry scenes
Ewa Bugaj crafted a breathtaking bouquet featuring Clematis Amazing® Star River, Eryngium Magnetar Questar®, Astilbe Vision in Pink, and Aster Teeny Tiny Pink. The predominantly cool tones make it perfect for winter and align wonderfully with the 2025 trend colour: Amethyst Glow, recently introduced by Thursd.
Amethyst Glow
Amethyst Glow has been announced as the trend colour for 2025 by Thursd. This lilac-pink hue exudes mystery, calm and elegance, making it ideal for interior design, fashion, and of course floral design.
The inspiration for Thursd's new trend palette stems from one of nature’s most stunning phenomena: the Aurora Borealis, also known as the Northern Lights. During this breathtaking natural event vivid colours dance across the night sky.
The new trend colours don't just inspire with their beauty, they also remind us of the importance of our planet. It's an invitation to cherish and protect nature.
A tender heart
In this delicate design by Ewa Bugaj, two soft-purple varieties are combined: Aster Dark Milka and Limonium Safora Lilac. The colours blend seamlessly, with the compactly arranged Asters forming the heart's base and elegant sprigs of Limonium adding an airy, dreamy effect. A soft and subtle creation, perfectly suited to the winter season.
