Secret Santa
Each year, BLOOM’s gathers the most prominent Christmas trends, including 'Secret Santa'. This theme revolves around nostalgic traditions, cosiness, and warmth, combined with natural materials and creative surprises.
This design beautifully embodies the trend. Warm tones like orange, soft yellow, and brown are complemented by natural elements such as pinecones, dried leaves, and berries. Clematis Amazing® Kibo enhances the natural, warm aesthetic with its dried, fluffy seed heads. Ornithogalum Milky Way and Limonium China White add a crisp white touch reminiscent of snow in a winter landscape - a stunning way to bring the beauty of nature indoors.
A floral Christmas tree
For this assignment, Krisztián Kövér and Klaus Wagener reimagined the traditional Christmas tree. Instead of a pine tree, they created a structure using chicken wire, metal wire, and wool. Limonium Safora Lilac and Eryngium Scorpius Questar® are then securely attached to this base. The round Eryngium blooms resemble Christmas baubles, while the Limonium mimics the texture of pine branches. Decorations made from wood and felt complete the look.
The Eryngium Scorpius Questar® is our youngest variety and will be added to our portfolio soon. It's the largest Eryngium in the Questar® series to date and features a striking blue colour. The blooms have long spikes, giving them lots of character. Both Limonium and Eryngium dry beautifully, allowing the arrangement to last without water. This arrangement is ideal to complement the traditional Christmas tree or as a unique gift idea.
Trend colour green
In line with the book, 'Green: Floral Design with Leaves and Flowers' by Klaus Wagener and Stephan Winzer, the master florists created a winter arrangement inspired by nature. The base consists of a wide vase or pot filled with floral foam. Fir branches and ivy tendrils are then added, immediately evoking winter associations. Light grasses like Chasmanthium Latifolium ‘Mantis’ and Pennisetum Black Fox fit seamlessly into the natural theme.
Eryngium Scorpius Questar® adds a pop of blue to the colour palette, while soft strips of green wool playfully contrast with its spiky texture. Festive elements such as black or green candles, copper-toned leaves, and shiny baubles complete the design. This trend can be elaborated in a large showpiece, but also translates well to a smaller size.
”I really love the new Eryngium. The form is really nice - it's compact, round and it has 4-5 blossoms per stem. The vase life is also great.
Behind the scenes
