MPS A, MPS SQ, Global G.A.P.

Marginpar Ethiopia already held the MPS A (Environmental) and MPS SQ (Social) certificates, and the Global G.A.P. has recently been reissued. In Ethiopia, this certificate is also known as the ‘EHPEA Code of Practice Silver Accreditation.’

Fully FSI compliant

This means our flowers from Ethiopia, just like those from Kenya and Tanzania, are now fully FSI (Floriculture Sustainability Initiative) compliant.

The reason the farm temporarily had to operate without a Global G.A.P. certificate was due to several factors. One was the construction of the new wetlands, which took longer - and turned out to be more complex - than expected. This water filtration system cleans waste water from the farm using, among other things, aquatic plants. The purified water can then be reused in the flower fields. Additionally, new standards required upgrades in areas such as storage facilities, restroom buildings, and cleaning rooms.
